LIFE EVENTS / SACRAMENTS

BAPTISMS

Baptism initiates by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body, the church. In baptism, we are made sharers in the new life of the Holy Spirit and the forgiveness of sins. Baptism is the foundation for all future church participation and ministry.

Baptisms for all ages are offered several times a year at our 10 am Sunday service. The dates for the Fall 2024- Spring 2025 year are:

Jan 12, 2005

June 8, 2025

CONFIRMATION

All rising 8th graders and older, including Adults, are invited to participate in this year-long formational program in preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation, to affirm our baptismal vows.

WEDDINGS

Marriage is the sacramental rite of the church in which two persons “enter into a life-long union, making their vows before God and the Church, and receive the grace and blessing of God to help them fulfill their vows.” (BCP, p861)

In the Episcopal Church, at least one of the parties must be a baptized Christian, and Pre-Marital Counseling is required.

Looking to be wed in St. Thomas’ beautiful, historic church?

Fill out our wedding inquiry form and we will contact you with more information and availability.

Our Music & Flower guild can provide experienced, on-location services for your wedding day upon request. We also have a venue for wedding receptions.

FUNERALS / BURIALS

Episcopalians are strongly urged to conduct funerals in the church. Arrangements should be made with a priest as soon as a death in the family occurs for assistance in planning and plot reservation. Any parishioner who wishes to make his or her own pre-arrangements may do so through the clergy. We have space to purchase in our cemetery as family plots, single/couple plots, an inurnment garden and a memorial garden.

Contact Rev. Kristin Woods for assistance and information about funerals and the cemetery.
