St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, Whitemarsh

ANNUAL GIVING OPPORTUNITY

Dear Friend in Christ,

Carillon bells call the faithful to worship, a father and daughter walk the labyrinth together as acorns drop to the earth around them, Barn sale volunteers welcome everyone with a smile, and Preschool students wend their way to the playground, pointing to deer grazing in the distance: when you step foot on the St. Thomas’ campus, you know that you are on holy ground.

On this sacred hill, we pray, celebrate, mourn, reflect, learn, and grow together. Mindful that our spiritual ancestors have worshiped here since 1698, we seek to follow Jesus today as disciples whose lives are marked by thankfulness and joy.

It’s in that spirit that we invite you to show your gratitude to God through the spiritual practice of giving. As Christians, we share our time, talents, and treasure to God and each other as an offering. We give in proportion to what we have received from God remembering that we have received everything from God.

This is an important year. St. Thomas’ continues to recover after a difficult season. New members are joining the church. People are returning. There is a palpable joy in the air, a sense that God is doing something new in our community.

Your financial commitment to St. Thomas’ is crucial in sustaining this positive momentum. We invite you to increase your gift or make a commitment for the first time. In 2025, it is our goal to increase contributions by 10%. Your generosity will allow us to offer a nursery on Sundays for our youngest members, Children’s Chapel every Sunday beginning in January, a new grief ministry, and a congregation-wide visioning process for our future.

Please begin by praying on what you will give. Allow God to guide you as you offer what you have received from God’s generous hand. We are so grateful for you and look forward to growing together in grace and faith in the years to come.

Yours faithfully,
