THIS WILL BE THE 19TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR THAT ST THOMAS OUTREACH WILL BE SUPPORTING AGUA PARA EL PUEBLO IN THEIR HONDURAS WATER MISSION. We will be building a new clean water drinking system in a small village of 110 people called Delicious Cabanas. We will again be buying school supplies in country and bringing with us [compliments of Nancy and Marylin Miller] 92 incredibly beautiful hand made aprons to distribute to the women of the villages. For the past 10 years we have also donated money to Project Cure [based out of Colorado] to “purchase” Cure Kits. A $200 donation buys a kit that has $2000 worth of much needed medical supplies in it. One kit is enough to fill a full large sized duffel bag. We have decided to open this up to any parishioner who would like to contribute money towards a Cure Kit. We will make that donation in the honor of someone if you wish to do that. If this sounds appealing to you, please make your check out to St Thomas and on the memo line write HWM Cure Kit. Thanks for all of the support you have shown us over the years for this mission. I will always remember when a very humble man in the village of El Pinalito told us through tears that they had been asking the local government for 23 years for a water system and he had given up hope. Then the eldest woman in the village walked forward, out of the crowd, with an old clay pot filled with water. She then smashed it on the ground to symbolize that the women of her village never again would have to carry dirty water to their homes. If that doesn’t grab ya, whoa.
