“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship. To the breaking of bread and to prayer.” – Acts of the Apostles 2:42
What is the Four Seasons Supper Club?
St. Thomas’ Church, Whitemarsh is a large and busy parish. One of the challenges and joys of being such a busy church is that there is always someone new to meet. The Four Seasons Supper Club can foster opportunities to make new friends or catch up with some old friends.
What’s the agenda?
There is none! Just a time to get to know one another better and share food and fellowship.
How does it work?
Everyone who has signed up will be assigned to a Supper Club of 8-10 people. The goal is for each group to get together once a season,
Each time, one individual or family agrees to host the group in their home and provide a main dish. The other members of the group contribute the rest of the meal – sides, dessert, beverages, etc.
Here is a sampling of ideas for your Supper Club – in winter season perhaps a casual football watching supper featuring your favorite tail-gate goodies or a Valentines Day dinner – don’t forget the chocolates!
In the spring, decorate Easter Eggs with the kids or host a fiesta to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The summer offers great opportunities for barbeques and picnics. During the autumn season, carve pumpkins as a group while smelling mulled cider and hot chili. These are just a few suggestions – get creative!
