Would you like to volunteer with this wonderful mission?
On Tuesdays 9am-11am and Tuesday 4-6p (TopShop sorting) Thursdays 9am-11am and Saturdays 9am-12pm we will be working in the Barn. Be part of the fun and come join us for an hour or come for 3! We need lots of people to sort, display and price all sorts of donated items. On Sale Days we need parking attendants and people willing to help set up and clean up; each of which only takes an hour of your time and is vital to our success. Do you have things you would like to donate to the Second Saturday Sales?
Beginning March 15th, we will accept new or gently used vintage and designer clothing; men’s and ladies wear; shoes; children’s clothing; accessories; antiques; housewares, glassware, and small kitchen appliances; decorative items and art; small furniture; linens, quilts, and blankets; jewelry (including heirloom items); sporting goods; books; and toys and games. We cannot accept computers and printers, cribs, TVs, mattresses, car seats, large sofas and large chairs, or medical equipment as they cannot be resold and we need to pay to have these items hauled away.

Feel good about donating your items and volunteering with us because…
Income from the sales goes directly to local, national, and global church-sponsored outreach/charity activities and grants. Last year, with your tremendous support, Second Saturday Sales raised a record amount of money –over $100,000. Income from the Second Saturday Sales has supported all of the St. Thomas’ Outreach missions including local organizations like Episcopal Community Services, Interfaith Housing Alliance, Ministry of Meals, Cradles to Crayons, Visiting Nurses Association of Abington, Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia, the Mattie Dixon Community Center in Ambler, and the Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels. These programs have provided food, emergency shelter, and educational support to families and individuals across the Philadelphia region, as well as funding the annual Harvest Festival, Be an Angel Christmas party, and the summer camp at St. Thomas’ for inner city children. Nationally, funds have supported the St. Thomas’ Youth Mission trip. Globally, sale income will support the building of water systems in remote villages in Honduras, an orphanage for abused and abandoned girls in Honduras (Our Little Roses), the Global Aids Interfaith Alliance in Malawi, the Hope and Resurrection School in South Sudan, and the Stop Hunger Now Pac-a-thon.
