When Jesus said, “Let the children come to me…” the Bible doesn’t tell us what else he said to them. Perhaps he said their names and told them he loved them. He may have told them about God, their heavenly Father, who would always take care of them. Whatever he might have said, we can be sure that the children felt his love. For the infants and toddlers who were present, the feelings were more important than the words that they could not understand.
Caregivers in the Nursery try to follow Jesus’ example. As care is given to infants and toddlers, we call the children by name, tell them that Jesus loves them, sing to them of Jesus’ love, and tell them we are happy they came to church.
The Nursery Coordinator is responsible for staffing, general upkeep, and ensuring that the Nursery is a safe and welcoming environment for children. The Nursery is staffed with permanent nursery caregivers and volunteers from 9:45am to 12:15pm during the 10:00am worship service and the Sunday Faith Forum and Discovery Hour. Summer nursery hours begin May 28, 2017, and are 9:15-11:15am.
For special events and services, the Nursery will be staffed so that parents may participate without worry of finding a sitter. Please call the Nursery Coordinator to confirm times for special services. We accept children 6 months to 3 years.
